From last night...I am still not over this gorgeousness...thanks everyone for encouraging vote in my story, the dough did smooth out after 30min. rest. And the result is right here. #homemade #pasta

Masala bhakari from leftover dhokari dough last night. It is usual breakfast the day after I make dhokari. This with ghee and ginger cardamom tea, simple and delicious and makes me appreciate regional food traditions. #breadsofindia My choice of masala here: Dry roasted and ground cumin powder, ajwain, tumeric, red chili powder, hing (asafetida), and salt in addition to standard atta, water and oil.
On totally opposite side of the spectrum, made Dhokari for dinner today. Regional Gujarati dish made as many ways as one can imagine. I make using leftover toovar dal as base for soup and cook dhokari sort of diamond shaped eggless pasta made from atta flour (from my story) in it along with spices and most importantly peanuts. Today I added fresh toovar beans as well. It is closely associated as comfort food for many, including me. Besides todayโ€™s weather called for something spicy and slurpy. #delicious
You havenโ€™t made them until you line them up in a pan and show the filling. This set got lemon mascarpone cream filling (lemon curd + mascarpone + superfine raw sugar) with lemon zest. And, evidently I didnโ€™t skimp on filling as you can see, they are called finger licking good for a reason. ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿ’› #naturallyleavened #bomboloni

This is the kind of project that requires you to stay completely involved from start to finish but know the reward is that much sweeter.
